I was born October, 16th 1971. Holton, Kansas is a sweet small town in the midwest. I was the 4th of 5 children born into my family. When I was 4 years old we moved to Topeka, Kansas and this is where I grew up.
I was raised in Topeka, Kansas. We were latch-key free-range kids who ruled the neighborhood. Later, I attended Topeka High School located a few block from the capitol building. It was the ultimate 80's experience as a mixture of The Breakfast Club, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and Farris Bueler's Day off.
After highschool, I moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Over the following decade I worked as a realistic bronze sculptor. I also made a living as a wax carver and made fine gold and silver rings.
Worked with a team of other artists and made three of twelve full-sized bronze sculptures in the Negro Leagues Baseball museum.
I designed the Phog Allen Sculpture in front of Allen Field House. There was a call for artists to design and build a bronze sculpture of Phog Allen. The other artists depicted him in a suit. The family of Phog Allen chose the design of my sculpture because I depicted him in a sweatsuit, holding a ball, with the time period Jayhawk and a whistle. This is exactly how it appears. See Phog Allen sculpture.
I worked on various projects. I assisted in building a ten foot gold-leafed atlas in Las Vegas' New york New York Casino.
I took all of my sculpture earnings and spent some time in Europe. Upon coming home, I decided to go back to school. I wanted a family and the life of an artist was too unstable for my preferences as a potential parent.
Graduated from Respiratory Therapy School. Married my husband. Started a family.
Started canvas painting. Over the next several years I refined my style and started selling modern abstract canvas paintings.
Covid came. By this time I had been an ICU RT for many years. My kids were nearly raised. I decided to quit my job because I wanted to have a career that would allow me to be creative. I chose web development. I love building and making things and it was time to expand my creativity into the digital world. I enrolled at Johnson County Community College.
During the many long hours of learning and studying, I conceptualized and built a novel digital interface system. It is a program that enables the user to easily make their own modern abstract artwork. It's part game, part machine, and part widget. I also graduated at the end of the year with a 4.0 in all web dev classes. Overall GPA is 3.8.
I work for an ad agency named KMG, in Lawrence, Kansas. I am the Director of Marketing Strategies and SEO Specialist. Under my supervision, we vastly improved the SERP rankings for 13 websites.
I did this through content creation, information architecture, structured data, Metadata, and Google search console.
